Lat comes from a long line of farmers. His family raises cows, mangoes, and diverse vegetables in Dassilame and Gandiaye, Senegal. In addition to working as a pharmacist tech for five years, Lat founded a small poultry business prior to moving to the United States in 2018. Lat has a passion for improving his community and was the founder and president of the youth-led AWA association in Kaolack, Senegal. AWA mobilizes diverse stakeholders to combat child begging. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, painting, running with his dog Django, and playing with his cat, Lady.
